Hello!

I feel incredibly lucky to live in the heart of the Peak District National Park, surrounded by the most wonderful countryside every day, and I love nothing more than getting out into the hills, wandering through the ancient woodlands and exploring the country lanes of this very special place.

As I go I try to capture with my camera the little moments that others might miss: the way the evening light just glances over the fields for a split second between clouds, the swirling mist as it weaves through the valleys, the first rays of the sun rising over the hills and melting the frost on the grass. It’s impossible to tire of the landscape here; every single view looks different according to the season, weather, light and time of day, and you can always chance upon a scene that makes your heart sing a little bit.

As well as photographing the Peak District landscape that I love so much, I write about it too. I have written all the features, articles and walks for Let’s Go Peak District, the largest independent visitor website for the Peak District, as well as many Peak District and Derbyshire walks for the area’s official tourist board, Visit Peak District. I also write and produce bespoke countryside walks for local accommodation providers, allowing their guests to explore and appreciate this beautiful area during their holiday. In between times, I write copy for websites, magazines and tourism publications.

I firmly believe that the Peak District is a place that should be welcoming to all who respect and appreciate it. It was the very first National Park created in the UK, hard fought for, with the aim of allowing everyone a green, open, peaceful space in which to relax and enjoy the natural world. It still serves that purpose today. If you want ideas about the best spots for a perfect holiday base or great locations for quiet walks, have a look at My Favourite Peak District Places.

I hope that my photographs and words make you smile and maybe inspire you to visit the Peak District for yourself one day. Until then, why not follow my adventures on Facebook, Instagram or X for some regular countryside inspiration in your newsfeed?!
